- Rose Marie Salmon Embroidery and Paint on Canvas This is a blog of pictures of my work from shows in New Zealand and Australia going back the last few years.I have always worked steadily as an artist I have participated in various group shows and also have solo shows. The work I am currently making is in a self taught medium. I spend a lot of time investigating my themes and draw inspiration from a range of topics. I use the qualities of the thread to create areas of sharp line juxtaposed with chaotic loose hanging thread, which allows the images to be very formal, and also tumultuous. I intend to discus an idea of traditional ‘women’s work’ which has become unhinged. The conventional sampler has become troublesome. rose.marie.salmon@gmail.com
